Animal Wellbeing

One of my dogs, Sneakers, is ten years old. She was no longer able to jump up on my bed and went down the stairs very slowly and carefully. Something was obviously hurting her. I started giving her one capsule of Sulfurzyme a day on her food (I emptied the contents of the capsule on her food; she weighs approx. 50 lbs). I started doing this about 1 1/2 months ago. She is like a new dog! She jumps up on the bed, runs up and down the stairs and runs and plays when she is outside now.

My little poodle was suffering from arthritis. I would have to carry her most of the way when we went for a walk. I was taking Sulfurzyme for my arthritis so I broke open a capsule and started giving her a small amount since she was so small. In two days she was running. I also told a friend of mine who had a larger dog with arthritis. He gave her a capsule a day and she was running up the steps in a few days where before she almost had to crawl.

We had problems with fleas/tics…Our cats back was very scabbed from them biting him. Peppermint was the oil I used. So one day as he was going outside I dropped two drops on the back of his neck. The next day when we checked him we could not find any varmints crawling around and shortly thereafter the scabs were gone and he has had no problems thus far,
The oil was right from the bottle not diluted.

I've been working on a natural flea collar that would not irritate the skin,
smells great and is natural.
Take a soft collar of any kind or brand, even the one that is already on your pet will do great. ¨ö teaspoon alcohol, 1 drop Cedarwood Oil, 3 drops Purification Oil, 2 drops Lavender Oil,1 drop Citronella Oil, I drop Thyme Oil and 3 drops Orange Oil. Mix the ingredients in a stainless steel bowl and soak the soft collar in it until all the liquid is absorbed. Allow the
collar to dry completely prior to putting it on your pet.
This collar should last up to 1 month, but if it does begin to loose it's
potency, simply remake the above mixture and soak it again. You can add
garlic oil if you so desire as fleas and mosquitoes HATE garlic.

Spray for pet bedding - 1 cup spray bottle, spring water, 10 drops of Purification, 5 drops Orange, 2 drops Rosemary. I use this when I change bedding every week and in between. It helps with any fleas that might be brought in on our animals. I spray the area under the bedding and the
bedding. I use it wherever my animals lie. It is great. I use on cat and dog bedding. I some times end up spraying the whole house, floors and sofas etc.

Orange Oil is sometimes called Orangacide by fleas. I found this quote on the Internet: "Orange Oil breaks down the wax in their exoskeletons almost right away and they die FAST. I noticed that within 5 minutes of using it most of them were dead, within 45 minutes I had a one hundred percent kill rate."

I make a spray to keep fleas off my animals.
In a dark 1 cup spray bottle I put 20 purification, 10 orange, and fill with purified water.
Spray animal before going out for walks etc. being carful not to get in eyes.

Here is a flea collar recipe from Leigh Foster from Holisticcat.
For cats dilute with V6 or olive oil.
When I used t his recipe for my cats collars added olive oil and did 3 cat collars in the one recipe.

Here is another recipe that was share with me by another animal lover.
Tick and Flea Elminiator recipe For a 100-pound dog (adjust proportionately to other weights) 1 heaping tablespoon brewer's yeast 1 level teaspoon garlic powder (or 3 or 4 garlic capsules) These ingredients are inexpensive when bought in bulk, and besides being an effective flea and tick repellent, they provide vitamins and nutrients and promote a glossy coat. This combination emits an odor through the pet's skin that pests find very offensive. The ingredients also make the animal's blood taste bad, which discourages ear mites, ticks and other biting pests.

Orange Oil destroys the exoskeleton of fleas and then they die! It is safe to spray all around. You could also mix it up with borax and baking soda to apply to the carpet. Some folks have used the Thieves Cleaner diluted also.

For ticks - rub Purification and/or Lavender between shoulders of your pet, belly and legs 3 times a day for a week then once a day. Put Purification directly on embedded ticks to remove and apply more Purification to heal the wound.

1 gallon distilled water
1oz organic catnip (Petco carries it)
Make 'tea' with the catnip, strain the tea through cheese cloth to remove the catnip. Let cool.
Add:
40 drops Purification
40 drops Idaho Tansy
40 drops DiGize
20 drops Rosemary
8 drops Peppermint
You can also add Cedarwood, Melaleuca, lavender...
It would probably work best if you use one of those sun tea containers
that has the pourer, like on a picnic jug. That way you can put what
you want in a spray bottle. This is also good for other pests, ants
and insects at picnics, for us to use, too!

I have used Purification in place of citronella in the bug spray I make for our Goldens. We don't use any Heartworm or other repellents and have had great luck with this simple spray and with geranium for ticks.
Mix the indicated number of drops of each of the following essential oils into 16 oz. of distilled water and spritz onto your dog's coat (avoiding the eyes!) as needed...
˜ 10 - 12 drops of Young Livingfs Purification Blend - includes:
o Citronella
o Lemongrass
o Lavandin
o Rosemary
o Melaleuca (Tea Tree)
o Myrtle
˜ (The above 6 oils are in Purification)
(Then add the oils below)
6 drops of Eucalyptus Radiata
˜ 6 drops of Pine
˜ 6 drops of Peppermint
